Our Approach

How Play Therapy Helps

At Little Leaps & Bounds Play Therapy, we understand that children don't always have the words to explain how they're feeling. Instead, they often communicate through play.

Play therapy provides a safe, supportive space where children can use toys, creative activities, and imagination to express their thoughts and emotions. With the guidance of a trained play therapist, children can work through challenges, make sense of difficult experiences, and develop healthy ways to cope.

As children feel safe and understood, they can build confidence, strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, and develop resilience that supports them at home, at school, and in everyday life.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the therapeutic journey. We work together to support your child's growth while respecting the trusting relationship that develops during therapy.

Every child grows at their own pace, and each small step forward is a meaningful leap toward greater wellbeing.

Play therapy may help children who are experiencing:

  • Anxiety or worries
  • Big emotions or frequent meltdowns
  • Behavioural challenges
  • Family changes, such as separation or divorce
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma or stressful experiences
  • Low confidence or self-esteem
  • Friendship or school difficulties
